Our annual End of Year function was a huge success.
Thanks to the help of Joan, Nora and Phil the night was a great opportunity for us all to catch up with old friends and re-cap on some of the events and issues going on in Meadowbank and West Ryde. Just recently, Holdmark were back negotiating with the Planning Assessment Commission (PAC) about building a high rise apartment block in their Meadowbank development. Rob Renew (MWRPA president) addressed the recent PAC meeting highlighting the lack of infrastructure, especially schools, in the Meadowbank area. In West Ryde the battle to remove the horses in the commons area continues. It looks like the horses pose a significant risk to public health and have been corralled.

Again one of the City of Ryde’s major cultural nurturing events has arrived -the Eisteddfod. This year the MWRPA sponsored the Humorous Verse 12years and Under. There were 8 entries in this category, and the adjudicator Mr Paul Marsh, said that the standard was high and very entertaining.
Our winner was Alexander Marsh. Alex has been learning speech and drama for 7 years with Mrs Jan Creer, and enjoys public performance very much. He is in year 7 at William Clarke College Kellyville. His younger brother prefers dance for his self-expression. Congratulations to Alex and we hope he continues to shine.
